Almost Done
Dee is now in the final stages of her training. Yippee!!! She's only a couple of weeks away from finishing. It has been a challenging month for her but she persevered and prayed a lot. We're so proud of her and what she accomplished so far. We've been truly blessed. Thanks to all for your prayers and support.

Hooked on the 'Party'
Dee bought the third season of Party of Five on DVD a couple of weeks ago. This is one of my top ten TV shows of all time. Despite some of the annoying characters in the show, I can't help but continue to tune in episode after episode. It's so intriguing. Plus, the show brings me back to the awesome 90's when plaid shirts, girl boots, & bad haircuts ruled the pop culture world. Thank you, Charlie, Bailey, Julie, Claudia, and Owen! You guys are awesome!

Giant Disappointment
So, this is what we get after glorifying a known steroid user. San Francisco was lucky enough to watch some amazing baseball during the Bonds era, but now ... Yikes! We saw the carnage first-hand a couple of weekends ago when we attended a game at AT&T Park. After a nice lead in the early innings, the Giants gave up several runs to the Brewers which eventually led to a 6-5 loss. Eventhough the team sucks this year, it's still fun to go to the park & cheer with 30,000 fans. It'd be nicer if we actually had a good team to root for. This is the time of year when I envy Yankee & Red Sox fans.

Obama vs. McCain
I want to continue to keep my options open. I like both candidates. Although, one is becoming more and more "Bush-like", and that's not a good sign. This country needs drastic change and we need a president who's the complete opposite of George Bush. Bush has set the bar for "what not to do" while in power. If McCain is just another version George Bush, then I'm afraid he'll lose this election. If he continues to follow the Republican party's policies on the economy, healthcare, or the war in Iraq, then he won't stand a chance. This will be an interesing fall season. I'm excited!

Coldplay and All His Friends

There’s really nothing like seeing a great band live in concert. Coldplay put on a fantastic show in San Jose this past weekend. But before I talk more about the band, I just want to say that there’s really nothing more irritating than seeing people “dress up” for a concert. This is not like going “clubbing”, folks! This is a rock concert. The dress code is jeans and t-shirts. Now that’s out of the way …

The Chronicle had a nice article on Coldplay’s Friday performance. From what I saw, I thought the band had tremendous energy, especially Chris Martin. Although, he proved once again that white guys can’t dance. It was amusing to watch regardless. Coldplay can get by relying on their music to move the crowd but with the added effects, it definitely enhanced the whole experience. From laser lights, to big giant glow balls, to butterflies … it all worked and worked very well with the music. This was a great concert, but in comparison to the two U2 performances I’ve seen, there’s still some room for improvement. The songs they performed from X&Y, except for “Fix You”, were just a bit bland. Also, except for “Yellow”, they didn’t perform any other songs from Parachutes, still my favorite album. On the positive side, the whole production looked great. They got the crowd chanting and singing along. The opening was tremendous as the dark sheer curtain rose up the stage during “Violet Hill”. The performances of “Viva La Vida”, “Fix You”, “Politik”, and “Yellow” were so memorable. But perhaps my favorite one was their closing song, “Lovers in Japan” – that’s when they released a million confetti-shaped butterflies from the rafters. Loved it!

Overall, the concert was quite an experience. Dee, Jenny, Chuck, and I all came out feeling like we just saw a REAL rock concert minus the typical annoying rock stars.

More Babies

Is this the year of babies or what? We finally got to meet baby Tyler last week. Tim & Chesney, I knew you were going to have a boy! I just have a gift for predicting these things (smirk). Then just recently, we found out that Daniel & Lisa are expecting. This came as a real surprise to us. But, that wasn't the biggest surprise. This week, they found out that they're having TWINS! TWINS! Can you believe it? God has blessed them with not 1, but 2 babies. AWESOME! What's my prediction? I initially thought they were going to have a boy. However, after I found out about the twins, I'm changing my prediction to 2 girls. Yes, mark it down. Daniel & Lisa will have 2 girls. Let the name suggestions begin ... the possibilities are endless. Here's one suggestion:
