Shelby's 1st Dance Performance

After months of practicing, Shelby finally performed at her very first dance recital - presented by Studio A Dance School. Although I'm not a big fan of dance, I was pretty impressed by all the girls' performance. The tap dancing was perhaps the most interesting. All the clickety-clacking was quite entertaining. But, the real star of the show was our Shelby. Good job, Shel!

Note: If you can't spot her on the video, she's the one on the far right after the first formation.

Promotions All Around

A couple of days ago we attended Jenny's Promotion Ceremony at Pleasant Hill Middle School. It's hard to believe that Dee and I now have teenager in high school. When they say that kids grow up fast, they really weren't kidding. I'm amazed each day at how grown up the kids are now. We have a picture of them with Donald Duck a few years ago in Disneyland and they all looked so different then. We're all really proud of them. They're great and talented kids.

But Thursday was Jenny's big day. She's going to College Park High School after the summer. I remember my days in high school ... I have nice memories, but life was awkward at that age. We all wish her the best, and we think she'll do just fine with the transition.

On a side note, Shelby will have her own transition period as well. She'll be in Middle School in the Fall. She said goodbye to Stranwood Elementary this past week while she welcomes new challenges in a few months in 6th grade.

Congratulations to our girls!

An Eventful Weekend

It’s been a while since we had a weekend like the one that just passed. The one really big highlight of the past 2 days was Dee’s Baptism. On Sunday afternoon, we headed out to the Benicia Straight along with our family and church friends – we were there support Dee as she took another major step in her spiritual journey. She was a bit stressed over the previous weeks mainly because she had to write and publicly read her testimony in front of her friends and supporters. And as always, she did an awesome job telling her story … which, by the way, left some folks in tears (I won’t mention any names). This was truly a day to remember and we, the kids and I, were all very proud of her. We thank our family and church friends who came out to support her. She really appreciated all of you for being there. This is just one of the many exciting and marvelous events that are in store for her life. Congratulations again, babe!

The other event we attended over the weekend was Anna’s & Dave’s birthday party in Milpitas. Although most of the cousins couldn’t be there (they’re all having a grand time visiting the Philippines), the remainder of us still had a great time celebrating with Dave, Anna, and the rest of the gang. Special thanks to Jenn & Ephraim for the fabulous mixed cocktails – you guys are pros. To Anna & Dave, “Happy Birthday”! We looking forward to more fun parties in the future! Cheers
