Save 'Private Ryan'
A number of ABC affiliates around the country are refusing to air "Saving Private Ryan" due to its graphic war violence and profanity. The FCC has cracked down on networks that violated decency regulations that stemmed from the whole Janet Jackson fiasco. Keep in mind that this film has been shown in its entirety back in 2001 and 2002 with only some minor complaints from the viewers. So, this is what TV has become. Because of a "boob" during the Superbowl, ABC can’t even honor our veterans by showing a very powerful and artistic film without controversy. I guess these affiliates want people to watch stupid reality shows instead – this is another case of the "Dumbing of America." Let's all thank Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and the NFL.
