New Photos Are Up
- Mother's Day
This year, the kids and I took Dee out for breakfast after church. Sweet Tomatoes has a new morning menu, fellas. Try it out. It's good. Afterwards, we went out to paint at a local art studio - painting is an annual tradition for us every Mother's Day. Dee loves to paint and she's quite good at it too. Later on in the afternoon, Dee and I went to the Warrior playoff game. We had a blast! Although, the W's came out on the losing end. Oh, well ... it was still a great experience.
- D.A.R.E. Gradutation
Shelby will be enterting middle school next year. She's growing up so fast. This past week we attended her D.A.R.E. graduation. It was great seeing her perform with all the 5th graders. We thank the Pleasant Hill Police and the Stranwood Faculty for all their hard work and for getting our kids on the right track in life. Programs like D.A.R.E. have tremendous impact in the lives of young kids.
Congratulations, Shelby! We're proud of you.
Warriors, Thanks for Memories!
The Warriors playoff run this year was probably the best 3 weeks of basketball I’ve seen in a long time from any team in the NBA. Their style of play was just so entertaining to watch. Their reckless approach to the games was something to behold. The fans came out and made the Bay Area and the NBA proud. It was truly one of the best stories ever in Bay Area professional sports. While we continue to watch Bonds defame America’s pastime, we at least got to watch the “good” of what sports has to offer during the Warriors playoff run. It’s too bad that it’s over, but we certainly have a lot to be proud of.
Dee and I were at the game last Sunday and aside from the World Series crowd at AT&T Park in 2002, this was the most hostile and loudest crowd I’ve ever witnessed. And the crowd was relentless, just like the team we’re cheering for. It was really quite an experience. Something Dee and I will never forget. It’s too bad that the W’s didn’t come away with the win, though. Our coworker said we jinxed the Warriors … sorry.
So, what now for the Warriors? Well, the first thing they should do is get more bigger bodies. Utah killed the Warriors in rebounding during the series. Plus, no one could stop Boozer. Yes, the Jazz exposed the Warriors’ weakness – size, strength, and rebounding. The good news is that the team has some money to pay free agents. It’s now just a matter of signing the right ones. The Warriors don’t need another scorer. What they need is someone who’ll do all the dirty work inside and who can compete physically with the other big men on the opposing teams. It’s going to be an interesting off season. The question is - how can the Warriors duplicate the magic they had this year? Is it even possible for them to capture the same fire they had this year? Well, we have all summer to think about it.
