His & Her Parties
Both Daniel & Lisa had their Bachelor & Bachelorette's activity day this past Saturday. While the ladies spent their day in San Francisco for tea and pampering, the boys were out in Vacaville for a day of paintball.
PAIN'ball
Most of the guys, including me, have never experienced paintball before. I was a bit apprehensive at first at the idea of going out in the field knowing that I would get shot by marble-sized plastic balls. It only took one round for most of us to realize how FREAKIN' FUN this was. The first shot that hit me landed on the back of my right arm. It stung big time! The player that shot me was one of the pro's who was using an advanced high-speed shooter. Yeah, my first hit was the worst. And, it looks bad too. I have a bruise the size of a lemon, and for some reason, it keeps getting bigger. The one on my back looks nasty too - thanks, Oliver. Despite the injuries, and the group had a lot of them, it was a pretty amazing experience - a great rush! Paintball is undeniably a sport made for men who don't mind a little pain. Since the Malabuyo crew takes pride in being goofballs, none of us really took this experience seriously ... with us, it's all about FUN! However, there were a few times when the rounds became challenging & competitive. I'm pretty impressed with some of the guys and their military tactics, A.J. especially. Who knew that playing Rainbow Six will come in handy, eh?
What a 'Hoot'!
After a day out in the sun, we headed home to rest, clean up, and get ready for dinner. In the evening, we took Daniel out to one of the most sophisticated and classiest restaurants in the East Bay - Hooter's. What Daniel didn't know was that Lisa and her bridal party were meeting us at the restaurant as well. Dee set the surprise up very well. The look on Lisa's face said it all. Anyway, dinner consisted of drinks and ofcourse chicken wings - 150 CHICKEN WINGS. The crew had no problem finishing it too - I'm sooo proud! After we stuffed ourselves silly, Daniel and Lisa opened up their gifts ... and they were very interesting gifts I may add. Good choices, Dee, Mac, & A.J.
Thanks, Everyone!
All in all, it was a perfect day to celebrate Daniel & Lisa's last month of being single. It's really great to see that the family has stayed close after all these years. It wouldn't be a celebration unless we were all together for an event like this. Good job to everyone who had a part in organizing the activities! To those who came out and contributed, thank you for being there to celebrate our soon-to-be newly weds. One more month guys ...
