Why is the media even shocked with Bush’s latest stunt? Come on, guys. Politics is just a big stage. Everybody is an imposter. It’s about who looks good on T.V. that matters. That’s why we have Arnold as a governor. They’re all actors – all of them!
I’ve experienced this sort of thing first hand during my stint in the Air Force. Every time we have “big wigs” on base, they usually set up a meet and greet with the troops. It’s usually held during a nice dinner event at the Officer’s Club. And usually, they would hand pick one person from each squadron to be the representative. And these representatives would be given the opportunity to ask questions to the “big wigs” only after the questions have been approved by their squadron commanders prior to the event.
In Bush’s case, he just wanted to avoid what Rumsfeld went through early in the year when he was caught unprepared to answer reasonable questions from disgruntled soldiers. And one more thing, captains and officers have nothing to complain about. If Bush wants to meet with real soldiers, try spending a few minutes with men that are E-4 and below – they’re the ones on the ground and doing the dirty work. Officers are just like toppings on a bowl of ice cream; they look good and taste good, but you can do without them.

This doesn't surprise me at all. But then again, the media need to stop acting like George Bush is the only leader in the history of the world to do something like this.
