How Sweet It Is

Even though the Oakland (Golden State) Warriors will miss the playoffs again this year they have made me proud of what they accomplished at the second half of the season. Barron Davis has been a blessing for this team. Trading for him was the best move they’ve ever made since they traded the draft rights for Chris Webber. What makes this even more sweeter is what they did last night against the Lakers of LA LA Land. It was ugly - a 126-99 Golden State victory. Eat that Kobe Bryant! At one point, the Warriors were actually up by 40 points. Can we finally put to bed the Kobe and Jordan comparison? It’s not even close, ladies and gentlemen. Kobe is a selfish “chucker” who put himself on a pedestal above his previous coach and the whole team. Jordan, however, made his team and his coaches look good – he made everyone around him better.

Anyway, getting back to the Warriors, the team now has a sense of direction. They’re 20–10 in their last 30 games, they’re young, and they’re fun to watch. Also, they have held their own against the Kings as well. You can probably say that they are arguably the best team in California as proof of what we’ve seen in the past few weeks. I know I may be being too optimistic about the Warriors. After all, they are the Warriors. Just let me enjoy this moment because it might not last that long.
