Losers of the Month
First place goes to: MLB (Major League Baseball). The commissioner and players’ union waited too long to install a steroid policy that would have protected the integrity of the game and the welfare of its players & fans. Quite frankly, I don’t care about the welfare of the guilty players. They’re adults and they know the risks. If they want to develop kidney problems, mood swings (‘roid rage), and *smaller testicles, then so be it. Besides, these guys are spoiled millionaires anyway, so I could care less about their own demise. Anyway, the real victims of steroids are all those players in the past that set records and became great through hard work and pure talent. The players who never cheated are the ones I feel sorry for.
Major League Baseball is probably the biggest joke in sports right now, aside from the BCS. Even the NHL, amidst a strike season, has more integrity than baseball. The kids of The Sandlot have more integrity than MLB. Even the Cleveland Indians of Major League (the movie) have more integrity than MLB.
As far as Congress is concerned, they’re the 1st runner-up for losers of the month. Why you ask? Because they got it wrong again! They subpoenaed the players and the commissioner when they should have called high school and college coaches to testify. They are the ones that should closely monitor they’re own athletes because they are educators of YOUNG men, mostly minors at that. The pressure to make it to the pro-level starts when these kids are barely out of junior high. The coaches/educators should start doing their jobs. Not to put pressure on kids, but to educate them and teach them the value of hard work. Again, congress used the hearings to thump their chests and grandstand in the middle of a scandal without offering a solution. Note to my Congressmen: Fix the real issues of this country first, and then you can go after Major League Baseball. And, when you call on people to testify, get the right people in front of you and make sure you offer a plan and a solution. Otherwise, you guys just end up looking like a bunch of bad actors on a reality show. They made the Jackson trial look credible.
2nd runner-up: Barry Bonds for being such a cry baby! Note to Barry: Stop the ‘I’m-being-persecuted’ act. Nobody feels sorry for you. As a matter of fact, nobody ever feels sorry for pompous millionaires. It’s not the media’s fault that you’ve become one of the most hated players in sports. When are you going to start taking accountability for your actions? Nobody forced you to get involved with BALCO. Nobody told you to sleep around. Nobody told you not to pay taxes (allegedly). Nobody told you to lie (under investigation). All these things are not the media’s fault. It’s time to own up Barry boy. You can’t escape life just because you hit a lot of home runs.

i've always thought the sandlot kids had more integrity than them sissy baseball players...those kids played because they loved the stupid game...these baseball players love the game because of money...$$$...baseball players suck. I HATE BASEBALL!
